Founded in 2017 \u2013
\na personal decision<\/span><\/h2>\n

Yamutec was founded in 2017 as an independent company for electronics and software development. The starting point was the conviction to develop industrial switching and control technology from scratch on a modern technical basis \u2013 instead of simply replicating existing devices.<\/p>\n

When the future of the previous supplier, QUANCOM Informationssysteme, became uncertain, existing users faced the question of long-term alternatives. Yamutec did not have access to the development documentation and product information for the earlier modules. This led to the conscious decision to develop its own circuits, PCB layouts, firmware, and application software.<\/p>\n

The goal from the very beginning: independent engineering work and in-house product development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Technical requirements<\/div>\n

Why Yamutec technically new paths<\/span><\/h2>\n

A key reason for developing their own solution was the decision to move away from outdated communication concepts. Instead of copying older hardware and software architectures, the new modules were designed to enable easy integration into modern computer, network, and automation environments.<\/p>\n

This led to the gradual development of proprietary product platforms with clearly defined interfaces and the ability to continuously develop firmware and software.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

USB-HID \u2013 without a special USB device driver<\/span><\/h2>\n

In developing its USB devices, Yamutec deliberately opted for the standardized USB HID device class. Based on Yamutec's technical experience at the time, the earlier QUANCOM USB modules did not use a corresponding HID architecture.<\/p>\n

With USB-HID, a separate, manufacturer-specific USB device driver is generally not required for supported operating systems. This simplifies installation, maintenance, and integration of the modules into custom programs.<\/p>\n

With the self-developed software library YMLib, users can implement their switching and control tasks in different development environments.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ethernet \u2013 direct TCP\/IP communication in the module<\/span><\/h2>\n

Yamutec also opted for its own architecture for Ethernet. Instead of a solution where serial communication is merely transferred to the network via an external interface converter, TCP\/IP communication is directly integrated into the module concept.<\/p>\n

Communication and control functions are integral parts of the Yamutec modular system. Depending on the module, features such as encrypted TCP\/IP communication and connection monitoring are available.<\/p>\n

This allows the Ethernet modules to be integrated into industrial networks, test benches and automation applications.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

A separate Product portfolio is created<\/span><\/h2>\n

From the initial development decision, a diverse range of electronic I\/O modules has emerged over the years. The portfolio includes USB, Ethernet, and serial modules with relay, optocoupler, and hybrid functions, as well as various channel counts and power classes.<\/p>\n

The product families are based on in-house electronics and firmware development. The associated software libraries and applications enable integration into various control, testing, and measurement systems.<\/p>\n

Development and final assembly

Yamutec is an owner-managed development company. Electronics, circuit diagrams, printed circuit board layouts, firmware and software are all developed in-house.<\/p>\n

In-house, Yamutec handles essential manufacturing steps, including electronic assembly and mounting, microcontroller programming, and complete final assembly and labeling of the devices.<\/p>\n

In selecting components, Yamutec relies, among other things, on products from established suppliers such as WAGO and W\u00fcrth Elektronik, as well as high-quality enclosure solutions from Germany. Yamutec logic technology expands the functionality of compatible I\/O modules. Logical processes can be executed directly within the module, instead of requiring a PC to permanently control each individual switching operation.<\/p>\n

Yamutec Studio 2027 provides its own graphical development environment. Users can create, simulate, and transfer control sequences to compatible modules.<\/p>\n
